Kenyetta Watkins
Retreat Host, 34

Kenyetta is originally from Rockford, IL where she graduated from Rockford Auburn High School in 2008. Kenyetta went on to obtain her Bachelors' in Sociology from Northern Illinois University in 2012 and Master's in Health Administration from National Louis University in 2017.

Kenyetta has always had a passion for community and building long lasting relationships. In 2016 Kenyetta attended her first women's conference and was blessed by the testimony of her mentor Sarah Jakes-Roberts. Like Kenyetta, Sarah was not only a teen mom but had experienced a traumatic break up that left her to pick up the pieces of her life and reinvent herself. Kenyetta was touched by the experience, she decided that for her upcoming birthday she would bring her closets friends and family together to share their stories as well, creating an atmosphere of healing. The retreat turned out so well that Kenyetta continued to host the retreat annually and made it public to women outside of her direct friend group.

The retreat lasts an average of 3 days and features activities focused on evaluating trauma and creating an action plan to heal. Registration costs includes lodging, all activities and meals. At an additional costs guests get to enjoy the spa connected to the resort.
